The freshest voice in comedy today’ – What Larks! Productions

I’m 21 years old and based in Chelmsford, Essex. I have been writing stories ever since I was 7 years old, making up simple tales about woodland animals working together, or superheros who could shoot laser beams out of their hands. By the time I was 9, I had created a fantasy trilogy called Age of Doom, as well as an accompanying trading card game which I crafted by hand. I even developed a simple language which was spoken by the various wizards and goblins of my books. I was fascinated by the idea of one single person, such as JRR Tolkien or CS Lewis, creating entire universes full of wonder and excitement, and I wanted to emulate that.

It wasn’t until secondary school that I was encouraged to consider a serious career in writing. Urged by my teachers and friends, I joined the Drama Club. I soon realised that acting wasn’t for me, that I preferred to tell the actors what to say instead!

In 2013, I wrote my first screenplay, Screwloose. Later that year it was noticed by the renowned independent company What Larks! Productions, who expressed a strong interest to take on my script. Since then I have worked on Screwloose with a range of renowned TV professionals including Morwenna Banks (Absolutely, Skins) and Georgia Pritchett (The Thick of It, My Family). Screwloose is currently in development at BBC Three. I am currently working on several other exciting projects with What Larks, and info can be found in my Filmography.

My favourite TV shows are Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Luther, Mock the Week and Dexter. In my spare time I enjoy travelling across the country, cycling and hosting dinner parties.
